Ceramics Art
This is the ceramics implementation of the 'Spinning Triangle' with small height of 13 cm. Finish is done by carbon reduction as part of ceramics firing, well supported by my artistic coach Sabine Classen, Groetzingen, Germany. This helped to give the sculpture even more depth by adding shadow-like smooth greyscales on top.
Overall I was quite satisfied with the surface shape and transformation from Max Bill to my own interpretation while I suffered somewhat with my own work in different areas like total size, vertical versus horizontal dimension, and overall a tip which should soar up more.
My other consideration was my long term desire to play around with metal mold like copper, bronze or other exciting materials. The shape is quite easy to create forms from. So, finally Sabine Classen encouraged me to investigate further on glass which made me study deeper about opportunities and features. A key work is the thesis 'Shaping Color' by Heike Brachlow, who is fascinating with her art and gives many hints for production of professional glass art. It was through this source that I became aware of the Czech glass art foundry Lhotsky s.r.o, who had all the arts and craftsmanship skills to do glass casting with unique quality and experience to work with international artists.
First step was to refine the aspect ratio by simple rescaling the photography and define my personal optimum which I would like to share below:
